Barbara Anne Ferris from Cleveland is running for Congress. Barbara is of Lebanese heritage - both of her parents are Lebanese.
She ran in the last election and the Cleveland Plain Dealer withdrew their endorsement of the incumbent and endorsed Ferris as the candidate more in tune with the needs of the district. This endorsement was historic and unprecedented as the paper has never withdrawn and endorsement.
This is a rare opportunity to help one of our own get to Congress. She would be the first American woman of Lebanese heritage in Congress. She needs to raise $1 million to win her race and she has strong name recognition and an excellent reputation in her district. I am asking you to please help Barbara get to Congress.
Please join us in supporting Barbara Ferris for Congress.
We look forward to hearing from you and we hope you can join us.

Aug. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Lebanon's oil spill, caused by
Israeli bombardment of oil storage units at a power
plant, may rival the leakage from the Exxon Valdez in
Alaska in 1989 if left untreated, the United Nations
Environment Program said.
``In the worst case scenario, and if all the oil
contained in the bombed power plant at Jiyyeh leaked
into the Mediterranean Sea, the Lebanese oil spill
could well rival the Exxon Valdez disaster of 1989,''
the UN said in an e-mailed statement today.
